We meant it when group Drink Safe Water, (DSW) a subsidiary of Power Africa Multimedia said it was calling for a ‘new’ Eastern Region with Waste Bins all over the region to arrest water and environmental pollution.
www.newsafrikaonline.com gathered Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Eric Kwakye Daffour and his Deputy, Hon. Joseph Tetteh at early hours, Thursday, October 19, 2017 have endorsed the group’s initiative to fighting filth in the region.
The doors of the Regional Minister and his deputy were opened via the Regional Coordinating Council, (RCC) to welcome Committee Chair and C. E. O of Wondrous Love Foundation, Mr. Daniel Arnold Alimoh and Executive Coordinator for DSW, Mr. Krobea Asante Tofepa Ntomentwene in chorus.
The purpose of the Thursday meeting was to officially introduce DSW to the regional heads and to petition ministers to support with logistics for waste management by its trained volunteers in some parts of the Eastern Region.
Although the initiative has been designed for all the people in the region, DSW’s letter to Hon. Kwakye Daffour and his deputy regional minister means we intend to begin project in the Krobo enclave of the region mainly during the Kloyosikplemi festival in Somanya and Mgmayem in Odumase of Yilo Krobo, on a pilot base.
“We have mapped to begin, Trom Junction through Kpong and Asesewa”, to sustain the hard work staff of Zoomlion in the various municipalities and districts”, Mr. Krobea elated.
The deputy regional minister, Hon. Joseph Tetteh told DSW Reps all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives have roles to play in the fight against indiscriminate waste disposal and pollution at all levels.
At the executive meting the group took the opportunity to introduce their yet-to-be-launched project, (One-Region-One Sanitation-Flag) to Hon. Tetteh Joseph, which he said if initiated, would go a long way to create awareness on sustaining our water bodies and environment.
“It’s a brilliant and welcoming initiative which needs the support of all, yes it’s true we are preaching to people, however something is required to be in position to cater for that”, and this we will consider, Hon. Joseph Tetteh pledged.
Mr. Daniel Arnold Alimoh thanked the Honorable Ministers for welcoming the initiatives and pledges to support Drink Safe Water Group, and all others who will stand to cause such changes in the region.
“Honorable Members, we say we are grateful and hope you treat our letters with rapt attention,” Mr. Daniel Arnold Alimoh commended on behalf of Power Africa Multimedia, a mother firm of DSW.
Mr. Krobea Asante, urged Ghanaians to hold on to victory over the evil pollution in all parts of the country when it begins to hoist flags of water and sanitation at regional basis.
“We shall win the support of our colleagues in South Africa soon as a new chapter is soon to be opened there soon for sponsorship and fundraising.
“We expect America and all other parts of the world too.Time will tell as more than 17 countries including Ghana, European Union, Norway, Sweden, Iran, the Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, France, Turkey, Brazil and Singapore follow and read our stories and tweets”, Mr. Krobea Asante observed.
