Nene Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II, Paramount Chief for Yilo Krobo at a press briefing Tuesday, October 10, 2017 has announced November as the month to mark the Silver Jubilee of Kloyosikplemi Festival.
Mr. Joshua Amanor who read the ‘contents of reason’ for Tuesday’s gathering at the Royal Palace in Sra, used the opportunity to introduce the six (6) Yilo Klo state divisions. These are made up of the people of Plau, Bornya, Bunase, Nyeweh, Ogomey and Okper.
Programme line-up for event which was important to Drink Safe Water Group and Power Africa Multimedia for its ‘Operation No Pollution! Check a Waste Bin Campaign was copied to Executive Coordinator of DSW and a former Morning Show Host at Rite FM, Mr. Krobea Asante Tofepa.
On the Organizing and Planning Committee for the SILVER JUBILEE EVENT platform are the Chairman for group who doubles as a local governance expert, Mr. Issaka Amon Kotei, Vice Chair Mrs. Hilda Huaji, committees chair for DSW and C. E. O of Wondrous Love Foundation, Mr. Daniel Alimoh Arnold, Mr. Ampem Gyeke – Darko, C. E. O of Power Africa Multimedia and other 108 members (sanitation ambassadors).
In a discussion prior to the November festival, the group commended the paramountcy over the event line up and pledged to support to manage waste through awareness creation and soliciting for waste bins, mobile toilet facilities and other waste management logistics across streets, markets and lorry parks.
Mr. Amanor read, “all events are to commemorate Yilo Klo ancestors who on first Saturday of August, 1892 were forcibly evicted from the Krobo mountain after an untrue allegations were leveled against them; the colonial forces led by Commander Griffiths carried out a barbaric and dehumanizing operations when a heavy duty ballistic cannon balls were coldly blasted into our ancestors.”
The biggest tragedy of history, Mr. Amanor told media that, the unfortunate exercise culminated and killed extremely pregnant women, babies, aged, disables and sick persons.
“The 2017 and 25th anniversary of Kloyosikplemi festival incredibly coincides with the ascension of His Royal Majesty, Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II unto Okotoblidza (Yilo Paramountcy) and therefore called for celebrations”, Mr. Amanor disclosed to Krobea Asante Tofepa.
Mr. Krobea Asante recently led his group, DSW and Power Africa Multimedia to sign a memorandum of understanding prior to management of the possible waste the festival could bring forth.
This, DSW has constantly maintained that, awareness creation for ‘KLEAN KROBO STREETS PROJECT is to augment efforts of Zoomlion staff who with no doubt, are playing a key role in maintenance of waste in our streets, markets and communities.
Mr. Krobea begged, “we have a lot to do within our communities, for this reason, we shall do all possible best to continue our strong promotion of event but plead on the general public to donate to us waste bins, long brooms, wellington boots, detergents and refreshment packages to help in maintaining total cleanliness before, during and after the Kloyosikplemi festival.
“We are focused to champion our NO POLLUTION CAMPAIGN and shall therefore avail our leadership and membership to make this festival a historic one, Ghana must use SOMANYA and KLOYOSIKPLEMI as a pace setter.”
Drink Safe Water Group in a press release on Monday through its Executive Coordinator, have called on the Eastern regional minister and deputy, Hon. Eric Kwakye Daffour and Hon. Joseph Tetteh respectively to give Ghana a ‘new Eastern region with waste bins’ in streets as visible as police and street lights.
“I encourage that, all Ambassadors of DSW find below, programme by the SILVER JUBILEE COMMITTEE OF 2017 KLOYOSIKPLEMI FESTIVAL and observe all our road maps and strategies to help maintain our bid of the MOU”, however sponsorships and support was keen to making project a success”, he added and asked members and general public to take notice of theme for the 2017 Kloyosikplemi Silver Jubilee which read, “UNITY IN DIVERSITY FOR DEVELOPMENT”
